Established on a piece of land which led as far as the chemin de ronde (the covered walkway around the ramparts), this building gave on to a huge garden. Its facade on the road, enlivened by a forward central section, was originally flanked by a passage which, straddling the road, linked the building to the chapel. The facade still shows signs of its past in its dormer windows, capped by triangular pediments which break up the cornice at regular intervals.
