Langres is particularly well-known for the excellent quality of its local produce. What comes to mind first is Langres cheese - made from full-fat cow's milk, the local origin of which is guaranteed. But cheese is not all the region has to offer - gourmets also enjoy the Rubis de Groseilles, wine from Montsaugeonnais, bier La Choue...As far as pure craftsmanship is concerned, the Langres region is head and shoulders above any other region in France. The Fayl-Billot area is famous for basket making. The town of Nogent enjoys international renown for manufacture of knives and cutlery ; together with other metallurgy businesses the town employs a good 2000 people.The ruins of Gallo-Roman Mausoleum at Faverolles are particularly well pereserved, and eshibition also includes death masks, wooden blocks, cornices... You can visit the site during a walk through the forest. The château du Pailly is, without doubt, one of the most prestigious masterpieces in Champagne-Ardenne from Renaissance period. So wherever you are in the Langres region, you will always find a reason to stop off and visit one of many places of interest... and, of course, every time enjoy you will meet the friendly local inhabitants, people who are truly proud of their natural, historical and artisric heritage.
